Willow is the medical division of BloomKidz, designed to provide additional medical support to our clients and staff while they are receiving services in the clinic. Our skilled nursing team, under direction of a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) keeps care safe and coordinated for children with medical needs, working hand in hand with your child's therapists and your family's doctors so nothing falls through the cracks. BloomKidz is the only ABA clinic in Arizona with the ability to provide full comprehensive medical care to clients & staff.

What is Willow Health & Wellness at BloomKidz?

Willow provides a variety of medical services and resources to help support the health and safety of our clients while allowing them to remain engaged in their scheduled services whenever appropriate.

With caregiver authorization, our nursing team can administer select over-the-counter (OTC) medications, including medications such as Benadryl, Tylenol, and Advil, when clinically appropriate. This additional support may allow clients to remain in services rather than requiring them to leave the clinic for every minor medical concern.

Willow is not intended to replace your child’s primary care provider (PCP). Rather, our goal is to serve as an additional resource for addressing medical needs and concerns that may occur while your child is receiving services at BloomKidz.

Our skilled nursing team is also available to assess and address minor injuries that may occur during the school or therapy day, including bumps, cuts, scrapes, and falls. Nurses will evaluate the situation, provide appropriate first aid or immediate care, and determine whether additional medical attention is necessary.

Willow also has the capability to perform rapid testing for common illnesses, including influenza (flu), RSV, COVID-19, and strep throat, when indicated and with appropriate authorization.

In addition to providing direct medical care, Willow works collaboratively with the ABA team to help clients become more comfortable and familiar with routine medical procedures. This may include desensitization and practice with procedures such as obtaining height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, and blood draws. Our goal is to make medical experiences as comfortable and positive as possible for each client.

How it works:

When a client is onboarding with BloomKidz for services, caregivers have the opportunity to meet with our Lead Nurse Practitioner, Geoff. During this initial meeting, we gather a brief medical history and discuss any relevant medical information, conditions, medications, allergies, or other considerations that may be important for safely supporting the client while they are in the clinic.

Although Geoff is not continuously on campus, our team of skilled nurses maintains direct communication with him regarding medical concerns and care decisions as needed. This allows our nursing team to provide consistent support while ensuring that concerns can be appropriately escalated to our Lead Nurse Practitioner when necessary.

Our nurses are on staff throughout the day and available to support clients and staff with medical needs. Caregivers will be notified when there is a significant change in their child’s health status, a medical concern requiring parent involvement, or an injury that occurs while their child is in the clinic.

Ultimately, Willow’s goal is to provide an additional layer of medical support within BloomKidz while helping create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment where children can continue to access the services they need.
