Occupational Therapy (OT)
In collaboration with your child’s ABA therapy team, our occupational therapists help children do the things that make up their day — dressing, handwriting, play, self-regulation, and managing the sensory world around them. The goal is confidence and independence in the moments that matter, at home, at school, and everywhere in between.
Your child may benefit from occupational therapy if they exhibit any of the following:
Difficulty with daily activities at home, school or in the community
Difficulty with keeping up with peers socially/physically
Struggling with fine motor or self care skills
Avoiding certain textures or surfaces, they may have sensory processing disorder

Frequently Asked Questions About Occupational Therapy
-
Our occupational therapists help children do the things that make up their day — dressing, handwriting, play, self-regulation, and managing the sensory world around them. The goal is confidence and independence in the moments that matter, at home, at school, and everywhere in between.
-
ABA therapy is the foundational program for all BloomKidz clients. Occupational Therapy hours are evaluated and layered directly into your child’s existing ABA schedule based on their individual sensory, fine motor, and self-care needs. We do not offer standalone outpatient OT appointments.
-
Our occupational therapists work side-by-side with your child’s RBT and BCBA. By embedding sensory diets, fine motor practice, and self-care routines into their daily ABA schedule, your child practices functional skills continuously throughout their day.
-
Signs include difficulty with fine motor tasks (holding utensils, writing), challenges with self-care routines (dressing, shoe tying), sensory sensitivities to textures or noise, or difficulty with emotional regulation and focus.
-
Focus areas include Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), sensory processing regulation, fine and gross motor development, visual-motor integration, core strengthening, posture, and emotional control.
-
Our team utilizes sensory integration tools (swings, crash pads, weighted products, heavy-work equipment) combined with everyday household tools to build practical life skills.
